8 - Optimism? Hmm.

"A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty." - Winston Churchill
"Is the glass half empty or half full?" - An Anonymous Alcoholic
"The optimist sees the doughnut; the pessimist the hole." - Homer Simpson
Prompt: What does Winston Churchill's quote mean? Do you agree with it? How does it apply to your life? Are you generally optimistic or pessimistic? Give an example.

Winston Churchill's quote defines very well what optimism and pessimism are: two opposite ways to see and manage our lives. This quote means that pessimistic people do not take their chance when they face an opportunity, they think it is too difficult, and they sometimes give up without even having tried. On the other hand, optimistic people think that everything is possible, even when it is very difficult: they positively think. I agree with Mr. Churchill's quote.

I do not really know if I am an optimistic or a pessimistic person. When I give advice, I am really optimistic because I want people to think positively, I want them to try their best. Concerning myself, I try to be optimistic, but maybe not enough, and not in all areas of my life. I believe that I have been disappointed many times in my life, and that it is sometimes better to do not expect too much for not being too disappointed and sad.
